In my classroom we have chairs instead of risers. They're nice to have when my students aren't tipping back in the them or trying to use them like rocking chairs, but they don't get much use. We're always moving with the music or sitting in different spots on the floor. I've often thought, wouldn't it be nice to have cheap, non-slip mats for the students to use?

The ones pictured above are from the Dollar Tree. Each roll is five feet long, which means that you could have several mats per roll of liner that you buy. The liners are sturdy, non-slip, and easy to cut to size. Plus, the color options are pretty good for the price. If you're in the market for sitting mats or just looking for a way to help students stay in their spots, try this out and let me know how it works for you!
