I am in the midst of "program week" here at school and this is the week in which I feel the most stress. Programs notoriously make me crazy for several weeks out of the year. It's a process that never seems to change or get easier. Putting on multiple concerts for multiple grade levels is difficult, especially when it occurs in a one-week span. Therefore, rather than writing my usual two posts a week, I'll be busy stressing about all the things that could go wrong. I'll be back next week with a spring in my step and a new project to work on.
Until then, here is a list of things I'd rather be doing than stressing out over performances:
#1. Learning how not to stress out over performances.
#2. Enjoying the stage and its spotlight, as opposed to avoiding it completely.
#3. Drinking a chai latte or an Applebee's Strawberry Mojito.
I just tried the latter recently. Yum.
#4. Eating a chili-cheese dog and not have to add it to my list of foods on myfitnesspal.com.
#5. Listening to my 4-year old nephew tell a story.
I barely understand a word, and it's the sweetest sound in the world.
#6. Watching my husband play disc-golf.
He says I'm getting better at it. I say he needs to get his eyes checked.
I put this on the list twice because that's how much I enjoy it.
How about the rest of you? How do your performance weeks feel?
