My first pin comes from Steph over at Stay Tuned! She came up with an amazing idea to use dryer hose as a cheap, DIY alternative to phonics phones. These would be great for helping students to sing on pitch or differentiate their singing and speaking voices! Click on the picture to learn more.

The next pin comes to you from Michael Bettine. He discusses how to make superball mallets using bouncy balls and piano wire. I saw several images floating around Pinterest that featured a similar DIY project using bamboo skewers instead of piano wire. However, Michael's website was the first I found that went into detail about how to make and use these mallets.

The next pin comes from Paul Weller and will lead you to a website packed full of fantastic resources for elementary music. Most notably, he has scope and sequence and week by week plans for 1st through 5th grade music. His resources are a must-see for teachers at any level of experience. Click on the picture to see more.

The following pin features a fun, music app I wrote about in my blog just last week. This web-based app was created by Paul Lamere and is powered by Spotify. Using this app, you can find and play the "most dramatic" section of any song. Click on the image to try it for yourself or read more about my experience with it on last week's blog post. I will warn you though, it's addicting!

I'm bending the rules a bit to add this last pin, as it doesn't pertain directly to teaching, but it was too much fun to exclude from my list! The image is from a website titled What Would Zooey Deschanel Wear? The premise is to find clothing that matches the outfits seen on Zooey, including the outfits she wears on the show New Girl, in which she plays the role of a middle school teacher. I always aspired to wear outfits like this when I was teaching, though I rarely ever did. However, if you're fashion-inclined, this site is a great place to gather ideas for your next shopping spree.
Thanks to Aileen for hosting today's linky party. If you would like to join the party, head on over to Mrs. Miracle's Room to link up! Also, don't forget to follow my board on Pinterest called The Music Mix, where you'll see more pins just like these every week!
