YELLOW BRICK ROAD MUSIC

Five Easy Music Crafts for the End of Year

Do you ever discover fun music crafts online, save them for later, and then never try them? Me too. I used to pin ideas or bookmark websites, thinking I’d get to them later. Inevitably, most of those music craft ideas were left unused by the end of the year; partly because they didn’t really fit with what I was teaching at the time, and also because I just plain forgot about them.

Not this year! Spring is the perfect time to start asking staff and parents for the items you’ll need for some easy end-of-year music crafts. There’s just something about saving old toilet paper rolls for school projects that makes us all a bit nostalgic.

DIY Didgeridoo

  • cardboard tube (the longer the better)
  • markers/stickers for decorating

DIY Shaker

DIY Kazoo

  • popsicle sticks
  • plastic straws
  • rubber bands
  • scissors

DIY Noise Maker

  • notecard
  • scissors
  • large popsicle stick
  • double-sided sticky foam
  • rubber band
  • cotton string

Origami Piano

  1. I'm with you- I always pin these things and then forget about them >_<; This is a great reminder. You're right, the end of the school year is a great time to pull this stuff out!
